Lucas is a small town! The town is 7.7 square miles in size. With Lake Lavon bordering Lucas to the east, nights are dark and quiet. You can actually still look up and see a blanket of stars.
The corps of engineers owns all of the land around Lake Lavon, so the rich wildlife environment will be protected forever. Lucas winds around the west side of the lake, so if you enjoy fishing, you can have your boat launched onto the lake within minutes.
If you enjoy horses, there is a 9 mile equestrian trail maintained by the Trinity Trail Association in Lucas.
And while Lucas may look like it’s in the middle of nowhere on a map, you are only minutes from shopping located in Allen, Fairview and Plano. The Village at Allen and The Village at Fairview offer great stores and restaurants, as well as a Whole Foods Market.
Living in Lucas allows country living with quick, easy access to major thoroughfares, great schools, and hospitals.
Lovejoy ISD has become one of the most highly regarded and sought after school systems in the entire state of Texas.
Every home in Lucas is on at least one acre and once you cross the city limit into Lucas, the land opens up and you immediately feel the spaciousness and peacefulness.
